A-Level Art &  Design

Grade 6 GCSE in Art.

A-Level Art & Textiles

Grade 6 in GCSE Art Textiles.

A-Level Biology 

Combined Science GCSE 6,6

Separate Sciences Grade 6, 6, 5, with 6 in GCSE Biology.

Grade 6 GCSE Maths and GCSE English.

A Level Business

Grade 6 GCSE Business Studies and Grade 6 in Maths.

 

If a student did not take GCSE Business Studies, they need a Grade 6 in maths and a Grade 6 in English.

 

CTEC Extended Certificate in Sport and Physical Activity

GCSE English at Grade  4 and, ideally, GCSE PE/Biology Grade 4 or higher.

If students have not studied GCSE PE they should have a discussion with the Subject Leader and Director of Sixth Form to assess their suitability.

A-Level Chemistry

Combined Science GCSE Grade 6,6

Separate Grade 6, 6, 5 with 6 in GCSE Chemistry.

Grade 6  GCSE Maths and a Grade 5 GCSE English Language.

A-Level Computer Science

Grade 7 GCSE Computer Science

If student didn't take GCSE Computer Science, they need a Grade 7 GCSE Maths. 

Applied Certificate Criminology

Grade 5 in GCSE English (Literature or Language) plus a Grade 4 in GCSE Maths.

A-Level Drama 

Grade 6 GCSE Drama.

If Drama not studied at GCSE, Grade 6 in English Literature or English Language.

A-Level Economics

Grade 6 in GCSE English and Maths.

A-Level English Literature

Grade 6 in GCSE English Literature and a Grade 5 in GCSE English Language.

BTEC Extended Certificate in Enterprise and Entrepreneurship

Grade 4 in GCSE English and Maths.

A-Level French

 Grade 6 GCSE French.

A-Level Geography

Grade 6 in GCSE Geography.

BTEC Extended Certificate in Health and Social Care

GCSE English Grade 4 or above.

A-Level History 

Grade 6 in GCSE History.

 

Students who do not take GCSE History could still be accepted onto the course after a discussion with the Head of Department, providing student has Grade 6 in English Language.

A-Level Maths

Grade 7 GCSE Maths.

A-Level Further Maths

GCSE Maths at Grade 8.

Further Maths can only be taken as a fourth A-level.

A-Level Music

Grade 6 GCSE Music PLUS Grade 5  Instrument and Grade 5 Theory.

A-Level Philosophy & Ethics

Grade 6 GCSE in RE

Students who do not take GCSE RE could still be accepted onto the course after a discussion with the Head of Department, providing student has Grade 6 in English.

A-Level Physics

Combined Science GCSE Grade 6, 6

Separate Grade 6, 6, 5 with 6 in GCSE Physics

Grade 6 GCSE Maths and Grade 5 GCSE English Language.

A-Level Politics

Grade 6 in GCSE Politics or other Humanities subject and Grade 6 in GCSE English.

A-Level Product Design

Grade 6 in GCSE Product Design.

If student hasn't taken Product Design at GCSE they will need Grade 6 in GCSE English and Grade 5 in GCSE Maths.

A-Level Psychology

 Grade 6 in GCSE English plus a Grade 6 in either GCSE Science OR GCSE Maths

A-Level Sociology

Grade 6 in GCSE Sociology or other Humanities subject and Grade 6 in GCSE English.

A-Level Spanish

Grade 6 GCSE in Spanish.

AS-Level Extended Project Qualification 

GCSE Grade 7 in English required as well as overall average GSCE points score of 5.5.
