This course will give you the opportunity to understand the theories behind criminal behaviour and the approaches to reducing criminal activity in and out of the court room.
Criminology is the scientific study of the mind and behaviour.
How will it be assessed?
The Level 3 Applied Certificate in Criminology is a two-year linear course.
Examining board: Eduqas
Component 1: Internal Assessment (25%)
Component 2: 90 Minute Exam in Year 12 (25%)
Component 3: Internal Assessment (25%)
Component 4: 90 Minute Exam in Year 13 (25%)
Where will it lead?
The purpose of the WJEC Level 3 Applied Certificate in Criminology is to provide learners
with an introduction to criminal justice and to give a context for humanities learning.
Together with other relevant qualifications, such as A Level Law, Psychology and Sociology,
it develops the understanding to support entry to higher education courses in the humanities sector including Law, Criminology, Psychology and Sociology. It will also prepare you for
apprenticeships and jobs in areas such as Law, the criminal justice system, and the voluntary sector.

Grade 5 in GCSE English (Literature or Language) plus a Grade 4 in GCSE Maths.
